WRI India is seeking an intern to support research, analysis, and stakeholder engagement for a project focused on enabling an equitable and inclusive electric vehicle (EV) transition for India’s automotive manufacturing industry. You will work with the Electric Mobility team and collaborate with Formula Bharat 2026 to promote knowledge exchange and capacity building.
What You'll Do
- Engage with various stakeholders to conduct thorough research on industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory frameworks.
- Engage with partners, sponsors, participants, and industry experts, participating in discussions, gathering feedback, and fostering collaborative relationships.
- Contribute to developing and managing assessment frameworks for various interventions with Formula Bharat, involving metrics design, data collection, and analysis.
- Assist the team in conducting secondary research on the transition from internal combustion engine vehicles to EVs in the Indian automotive sector, specifically in Maharashtra.
- Organize, review, and summarize relevant literature and data from multiple sources pertinent to the automotive and sustainability sectors.
- Synthesize recommendations into clear and compelling presentations and written reports.
- Produce project-related presentations, commentaries, reports, policy briefs, grant proposals, working papers, and articles.
- Present insights and findings on behalf of WRI India at relevant multi-stakeholder forums.
- Conceptualize and conduct related events and capacity building activities required for the project.
- Design and create innovative problem-solving approaches to address key research questions and challenges.
- Contribute and engage with WRI’s research community in India and globally.
What We're Looking For
- Core engineering student.
- Participation in at least one season at Formula Bharat.
- Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
- Strong communication skills and language proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) in English.
- Good working knowledge of automotive industry, sustainable mobility domain, electric vehicle segment, and energy transition.
- Excellent research, analytical writing, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as part of a team.

You will be part of the Electric Mobility team within the Sustainable Cities and Transport program (WRI India Ross Center).

- Compensation: 25,000 per month.
