GE is hiring a Wind Hub Technician to maintain optimal function and output at a wind site in Wishek, ND. You'll work daily on turbine operations, safety, and quality control, ensuring alignment with GE standards while executing contractual obligations.
What You'll Do
- Execute contractual obligations per customer requirements, working on electrical and mechanical equipment within GE wind turbines.
- Perform maintenance, repair, or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical problems on variable pitch and speed turbines.
- Work in all areas of site operations as directed with minimal supervision, observing all safety requirements.
- Perform diagnostic electrical analysis and document all work using computer-based service reporting.
- Collaborate with and respond to GE’s remote operations center when necessary.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year as a Wind Technician/Wind Mechanic, OR a completed Wind Certificate Program/Associates Degree in Energy, OR 2 years of electrical work experience.
- Passing a Technical Knowledge Assessment and possessing basic computer skills.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to handle repetitive weight of 50 lbs and climb towers up to 300 feet daily.
- Ability to meet specified manufacturer weight limits not to exceed 300lbs including gear.
- Willingness to work in industrial, manufacturing, and power industry facilities.
- Ability to prioritize work, take initiative, work without direct supervision, and adapt to rotating shift schedules and on-call requirements.
- Flexibility for occasional overnights per hub needs.
Nice to Have
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Electrical, or Electronics field from an accredited institution.
- Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field.
- Experience working with a wide variety of personnel at all levels.
- Direct wind turbine experience.
- Electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience.
- Experience using hydraulic power tools.
- Experience with heavy equipment for facility maintenance and a working knowledge of crane and rigging.

You will partner and communicate with the Site Lead and Manager as part of your daily responsibilities.
