Ferguson is looking for a Waterworks Estimator / Quotations Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for developing quotations for Waterworks projects and building strong relationships with branches and vendors. This position will support the West Texas and New Mexico region.
What You'll Do
- Gather data for quote preparation, perform data entry for new quotes, and contact vendors for job quotes.
- Work directly with partners and clients to determine project scope, specifications, and requirements, performing necessary calculations.
- Stay current on new products, market trends, costs, and pricing.
- Follow up on customer quotes and contact vendors for material pricing.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely receipt of pricing data.
- Participate in resolving any pricing-related issues.
- Analyze project specifications, including sketches, blueprints, bills of material, and sample layouts.
- Assess the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids.
- Send completed quotes to sales representatives and/or customers one day in advance of the due date.
- Confer with owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Complete project work, including using a bid calendar and updating Salesforce.
- Develop knowledge of the organization's products, services, and customers by working closely with experienced brand/product managers.
- Recommend products and services that align with clients' business needs.
- Assist Project Managers with execution according to established plans.
- Identify, develop, and gather resources to complete projects.
- Establish, maintain, and develop effective sales relationships with major accounts and customers.
- Participate in corporate-wide pricing initiatives.
- Attend associate meetings and communicate any concerns to management.
What We're Looking For
- Construction-related quotations or estimating experience.
- Strong proficiency with computer and software programs, including all Microsoft Applications.
Nice to Have
- Experience with waterworks products.
- Construction experience with water & sewer and storm drain materials.
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment plants, booster pumps, and pump stations.
- Prior use of Planswift or similar estimating software.
- Familiarity with customer quotations software.
- Experience reading blueprints, building plans, or drawings.
