AES Indiana, part of The AES Corporation, is hiring a Utility Forester to lead vegetation management efforts critical to ensuring the safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance of our electric infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Ensure compliance with AES, ANSI, and OSHA safety standards.
- Verify adherence to the IURC Tree Rule, ANSI Line Clearing standards, and best management practices.
- Follow AES Indiana, federal environmental, and endangered species policies.
- Conduct quality audits of vegetation management to confirm compliance with AES Line Clearing standards.
- Assist with emergency response during both scheduled and unscheduled hours.
- Coordinate with engineers, schedulers, and line crews to plan and execute tree trimming for capital projects.
- Develop detailed work plans for capital projects to ensure seamless access for construction.
- Provide daily supervision, leadership, and training; prioritize, direct, monitor, and evaluate contractor performance; manage project budgets to optimize performance, cost, and reliability.
- Negotiate with customers on line clearing to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes for capital projects.
- Communicate with property owners about vegetation concerns and secure permissions and access for tree crews.
- Develop and schedule transmission line work plans based on maintenance cycles and risk assessments.
- Conduct quality control inspections of vegetation management activities across the system.
- Inspect substation riser poles to ensure operational integrity.

This is an onsite position.
