Corewell Health is hiring a part-time Lab Path Assistant to join our team. This role works under supervision within Pathology or Laboratory to create exceptional patient experiences via calls, chat, and email. You are responsible for specimen processing, order entry, and phlebotomy while adhering to established safety and quality guidelines.

What You'll Do

Greet and communicate in a caring, respectful manner, maintaining confidentiality.
Answer telephone, take messages, welcome visitors, and provide information.
Serve as a resource to patients, lab clients, and team members regarding specimen requirements and processing.
Process orders, perform computer order entry, register clients, contact providers for issue resolution, enter charges, and perform/result tests.
Utilize standard venipuncture techniques to collect appropriate blood specimens adhering to correct collection and transport protocol.
Receive incoming specimens, check for proper labeling, and route to appropriate location.
Follow all Spectrum Health/Corewell Health procedures and policies.
May be required to serve at multiple Spectrum Health locations during a shift.
Follow all lab safety procedures to minimize risk; report gaps and escalate as necessary.
Commit to continuous improvement of patient experience including safety, quality, and service.

What We're Looking For

High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have

Graduate of a Phlebotomy training program
Associate's Degree in Healthcare related field
1 year of relevant experience dealing with the public, preferably in medical or customer service field
CRT-Phlebotomy Technician - NHA National Health career Association

Team & Environment
