Delta Dental of Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana is seeking an Internal Audit Analyst to play a key role in our operational integrity. You will evaluate processes, transactions, records, and systems to identify and minimize risk, ensure compliance, and improve the effectiveness of our operations and controls.
What You'll Do
- Determine or validate the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of end-to-end transaction processing using methods like simulations, sampling, and automated data analysis.
- Participate in external audits or assessments, including tracking requests and gathering responses.
- Investigate and quantify the impact and risk associated with problems, exceptions, and opportunities identified in internal audits.
- Document and report the results of internal and external quality reports, assessments, audits, and remediation verification.
- Document and report problems, exceptions, or opportunities for improvements to other departments.
- Maintain documents and records according to corporate retention policies, audit best practices, and departmental standards.
- Participate in evaluating and improving audit criteria, procedures, documentation, and departmental dashboard tracking.
What We're Looking For
- An Associate’s degree or completion of technical, vocational, or business school.
- Two years of experience in customer service, dental claims processing, or quality control.
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to resolve problems using independent judgment.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience using audit software and sampling, investigation, or auditing techniques.
