Kemper is hiring a Major Loss Claims Adjuster to take charge of complex claims from investigation through to conclusion. In this role, you will apply advanced claim handling and analytical skills to manage high-exposure cases, working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
What You'll Do
- Investigate, evaluate, and handle complex claims with high severity and large injury exposures.
- Review each claim to identify all coverage and exposure issues, conducting further investigation as needed.
- Contact insureds and claimants per corporate guidelines to manage the settlement process.
- Handle coverage questions, issuing reservation of rights letters and non-waiver agreements when necessary.
- Advise the Underwriting Department of adverse findings related to insureds or coverage.
- Conduct liability investigations using sound procedures to establish fault quickly.
- Evaluate, negotiate, and settle bodily injury claims.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of claims adjusting experience, including the evaluation, negotiation, and settlement of bodily injury claims.
- Proven experience handling coverage issues, high-exposure claims, serious injuries, liability investigations, and large losses.
- The ability to work effectively with senior management and follow detailed file-handling directions.
- Excellent planning, organization, and written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong ability to manage conflict effectively.
- Resilience to work effectively amid constant interruptions, meet deadlines, and adapt to a highly variable workload.
- Demonstrated capacity to make decisions quickly with minimal supervision.
Nice to Have
- Experience with injury evaluation tools.
Benefits & Compensation
- Salary range: $68,000.00 to $113,400.00

Work Mode
This is a fully remote position open to candidates in Chatsworth, California and Phoenix, Arizona.
