Global Finance Teams (GFT) is looking for a US Tax Preparer to join a tax resolution firm. This detail-oriented and analytical role is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and investigating individual and business tax filings while working closely with senior tax professionals to resolve compliance issues and support client engagements.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and file multiple-year amended individual (Form 1040) and business income tax returns (Form 1120 and 1065), including supporting schedules and disclosures.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with IRS rules and applicable state regulations.
- Review previously filed tax returns to identify errors, omissions, or compliance gaps.
- Investigate tax filing histories as part of tax resolution cases (e.g., missing returns, discrepancies, underreporting).
- Assist in reconstructing financial information when records are incomplete or unavailable.
- Work closely with senior tax preparers, enrolled agents, CPAs, or attorneys on resolution strategies.
- Follow firm procedures, documentation standards, and data-security policies.
- Maintain organized workpapers and supporting documentation for audits, reviews, and resolution cases.
What We're Looking For
- At least 3 years of work experience preparing U.S. individual and/or business tax returns under a CPA firm or a tax resolution firm.
- Strong understanding of federal income tax concepts and filing requirements.
- High attention to detail and ability to investigate and reconcile discrepancies.
- Ability to manage multiple returns and deadlines.
- Exposure to tax resolution work (back taxes, amended returns, compliance cleanup).
- Experience reviewing or correcting prior-year tax filings.

- Hands-on experience using Drake Tax Software is a plus.
