Qlik is hiring an US News Reporter

About the Role

Adyen is hiring a US News Reporter to join its digital newsroom based in the United Kingdom. In this role, you will produce fast, accurate, and original coverage of U.S. politics, current affairs, and culture, contributing to daily stories while applying strong editorial judgment.

What You'll Do

  • Produce multiple articles daily, including AI‑assisted stories, to a high editorial standard.
  • Pitch original ideas and develop exclusives: secure expert/source quotes, obtain documents/data, and advance stories.
  • Respond quickly to breaking news; contribute to live blogs during major events.
  • Apply sound editorial judgment and rigorous fact-checking to ensure accuracy, fairness, clarity, and journalistic integrity.
  • Leverage AI and automation tools to boost reporting efficiency (research support, drafting assistance, transcript/translation, timelines), while editing and verifying all outputs.
  • Collaborate with editors, visuals, and audience teams to package stories with graphics, images, video, and embeds.
  • Ensure Newsweek delivers high-quality reporting that is accurate, fair, and conforms to accepted standards of journalism.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as necessary to meet the needs of the business.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a reputable fast‑paced digital newsroom, covering U.S. news (politics, current affairs, and culture).
  • Proven ability to source, pitch, report and write daily stories to a high standard.
  • Strong news judgment and excellent command of clear, concise digital copy.
  • Solid understanding of media law, sourcing best practices, and ethical journalism.
  • Fluency with AI‑assisted workflows (e.g., research support, drafting assistance, summarization/transcripts), and the ability to critically edit, verify, and improve AI outputs.

Nice to Have

  • Proficiency with CMS, digital publishing tools, and basic analytics to inform coverage decisions.
  • Track record of original reporting with scoops, exclusives, or high‑impact enterprise pieces.
  • Familiarity with data journalism basics (spreadsheets, public datasets, simple charts) and courtroom/public records.
  • Competency with multimedia (image editing, simple video trimming, social embeds).
  • Knowledge of SEO techniques and audience development strategies.
  • Experience using collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft 365/Teams) in a distributed newsroom.
