Role Overview
As the Trade Marketing Jr Manager in Guatemala, you will lead the creation and implementation of trade marketing strategies within the annual category planning process. Your work will ensure alignment with broader regional and brand objectives, serving as a key link between Marketing and Sales functions. You will focus on driving profitable growth through precise commercial planning and strong execution at the point of sale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the trade marketing component of annual category plans, including contract development and execution
- Analyze channel-specific market trends and shopper behavior to inform strategic decisions
- Drive business planning meetings to establish sales targets based on core growth drivers
- Recommend trade investments aligned with category and channel needs, ensuring high-quality POS execution
- Monitor competitive activity to identify emerging opportunities and potential risks
- Collaborate with multi-category teams to share actionable channel insights that support innovation, promotions, pricing, and portfolio development
- Develop and execute localized trade marketing strategies that support regional goals, improve sell-through, and enhance shopper conversion
- Adapt global strategies to local market conditions, overseeing 4P implementation and promotional launches
- Track and evaluate the performance of key growth initiatives using relevant KPIs
- Work closely with sales teams to boost POS rotation and correct underperforming activities
- Manage consumer and trade budgets with a focus on efficiency, profitability, and measurable ROI
- Analyze shopper data and category performance, conduct field visits, and validate on-ground execution
Qualifications
- Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years in Trade Marketing, Sales, or Customer Development roles
- Proven track record in POS execution and collaboration with commercial teams
- Strong understanding of various retail channels, including modern trade, traditional trade, and wholesale
- Experience with commercial planning tools and performance metrics such as visibility, sell-out, and distribution
- Skills in budget management and assessing the profitability of trade initiatives
Preferred Background
- Experience in FMCG or retail categories is strongly preferred
Technical Tools
- Familiarity with commercial planning and execution measurement platforms
- Proficiency in tracking visibility, sell-out rates, and distribution metrics
