Deloitte is looking for a Thought Leadership Writer to communicate big, market-shaping ideas that define the future of business and the country. You’ll combine journalistic storytelling with a deep understanding of complex industries, businesses, and public policy to create influential content.
What You'll Do
- Write long-form, research-driven thought leadership pieces on topics of significant business importance.
- Translate complex intellectual ideas from cross-functional leaders into clear, compelling narratives that move markets and inspire executive audiences.
- Interview senior leaders, extract insights, organize perspectives, and elevate key messages.
- Act as a trusted editorial partner to leadership, guiding them on narrative direction, structure, tone, and clarity while maintaining the highest editorial standards.
- Conduct secondary research and analyze market signals to support arguments with credible evidence, ensuring content is factual and authentic.
- Collaborate with analysts, SMEs, and strategists to deepen the intellectual rigor of our thought leadership content.
- Work closely with marketing and comms teams to shape where and how thought leadership lives and lands.
- Operate comfortably in a matrixed, fast-paced professional services environment with strong stakeholder management.
- Innovate with teams on new ways to bring stories to life.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years of writing and editing experience, with a strong focus on long-form content for B2B or professional services audiences.
- A demonstrated track record of shaping original, market-shaping perspectives and turning them into clear, influential narratives for senior and C-suite readers.
- Exceptional editorial judgment and story framing skills, with the ability to define the “big idea” and narrative arc with minimal direction.
- Experience collaborating closely with senior partners and executives, including the ability to challenge, refine, and elevate their thinking while maintaining trust.
- Superior writing craft: precise language, strong command of tone and voice, and ability to maintain a consistent editorial standard across multiple formats and channels.
- Strong interviewing and research skills; able to quickly get up to speed on unfamiliar sectors and ask incisive questions that surface distinctive insights.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in French would be an asset.
