We are seeking a dedicated aerospace engineering educator for a fully remote, tenure-track position at the assistant or associate level. This role supports a dynamic online learning environment and requires a commitment to teaching excellence, scholarly research, and service within a 10-month academic calendar. The position begins August 1, 2026, and is open to qualified candidates across the United States.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction in aerospace engineering through online platforms
- Design and enhance curriculum for both undergraduate and graduate-level courses
- Provide academic and professional guidance to students
- Sustain an active research agenda with peer-reviewed publications and potential for external funding
- Participate in institutional service and academic governance
- Travel to campus locations at least twice annually for commencements, meetings, and collaborative initiatives
Required Qualifications
- PhD in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related technical field
- Demonstrated ability to teach core engineering subjects effectively
- Strong scholarly record and potential for research funding
- Clear and effective communication in both written and spoken forms
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in areas such as advanced air mobility, aircraft design, propulsion systems, or flight dynamics
- Experience teaching at the university level, particularly in online formats
- Background in educational research or pedagogical innovation
- Prior engagement with military-affiliated students
- Industry or national laboratory experience
- Familiarity with ABET accreditation standards
- Training or experience in student mentorship
- History of interdisciplinary research collaboration
Work Environment
This is a fully remote position for candidates based in the U.S., with the expectation of two annual in-person gatherings. These gatherings support community building, academic planning, and ceremonial events such as graduation.
