About the Role
The role involves building and maintaining scalable backend services that power real-time coordination between electric vehicles and the power grid. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performance systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services for distributed energy systems
- Develop APIs that enable communication between EVs and grid operators
- Optimize system performance and reliability under variable load
- Collaborate with frontend and data teams to integrate features
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly
- Participate in system architecture discussions and planning
- Ensure data consistency across distributed components
- Support deployment and monitoring of cloud infrastructure
- Contribute to security and compliance requirements
- Evaluate and integrate third-party services and tools
- Document technical designs and operational procedures
- Mentor other engineers through code reviews and guidance
- Stay current with advancements in energy and software technologies
- Respond to evolving product and infrastructure needs
Nice to Have
- Experience in energy, utilities, or IoT domains
- Familiarity with smart grid protocols and standards
- Background in real-time data processing systems
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and infrastructure as code
- Experience with time-series databases
- Exposure to cybersecurity in critical infrastructure
- Contributions to open-source projects
- Advanced degree in computer science or related field
