Role Overview
This position is responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations for the United States, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Using Workday Payroll integrated with ADP, you will process biweekly payroll, reconcile data, and maintain strict adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. You’ll also support audits, year-end reporting, and continuous improvements in payroll systems and workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and verify biweekly payroll for US employees through Workday
- Review and validate pay components including earnings, deductions, tax withholdings, and wage garnishments
- Ensure compliance with IRS guidelines and multi-state payroll tax requirements
- Support internal and external audit requests with accurate documentation and reporting
- Prepare and distribute W-2 forms and other required tax filings
- Collaborate with HR and Benefits teams to maintain data integrity across systems
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in coordination with senior payroll staff
- Develop and maintain custom reports, calculated fields, and data extracts in Workday
- Analyze payroll variances and implement corrective actions
- Identify opportunities to automate processes and increase operational efficiency
- Document payroll procedures, controls, and system configurations
- Support system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new payroll features
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 7+ years of experience in US payroll processing
- Minimum of 3 years using Workday Payroll in a production environment
- Proven experience managing multi-state payroll and tax allocations
- Thorough understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws
- Experience supporting payroll audits and reconciliation processes
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
- Familiarity with ADP SmartCompliance tools
