This role is central to maintaining accurate and timely financial operations for a data-driven organization. As an Accounting Analyst, you'll manage the complete cycle of financial transactions, ensuring every payment, invoice, and expense is processed with accuracy and compliance. Based remotely in Costa Rica, you'll work within a globally distributed finance team, supporting cross-border financial activities while adhering to strict accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Process incoming vendor invoices with meticulous attention to general ledger and departmental coding accuracy.
- Review and validate international employee expense reports in alignment with company policies.
- Verify payment amounts and banking details to prevent financial errors and ensure transaction integrity.
- Serve as the primary finance contact for vendors, addressing inquiries and resolving discrepancies professionally and transparently.
- Maintain the accuracy and completeness of the ERP vendor master file.
- Support annual audit procedures by retrieving transaction samples and preparing required documentation.
Qualifications
You must be located in Costa Rica and have valid work authorization. The ideal candidate brings a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to accounting operations and thrives in a fast-paced, technology-enabled environment.
- Minimum of 2 years in accounting or finance roles.
- Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage high-volume transaction workflows without missing critical deadlines.
- Proven ability to balance speed and accuracy in daily financial processing.
- Strong numeric precision, particularly in data entry and GL coding.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills for global collaboration.
- Understanding of expense classification and account mapping logic.
- Ability to juggle recurring monthly tasks with longer-term accounting initiatives.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to international accounting practices, especially with vendors in LATAM or India.
- Prior involvement in audit preparation, including sample selection and documentation.
- Familiarity with automation tools such as GenAI or RPA for streamlining expense workflows.
- Hands-on experience with platforms like Coupa, Ramp, or Concur.
Technology Environment
You'll work within a modern financial tech stack including ERP systems, Coupa, Ramp, Concur, and emerging AI and robotic process automation tools designed to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Employment Structure
This is a remote position based in Costa Rica. You will be employed through an Employer of Record (EoR), which manages payroll, benefits, and local HR compliance. You’ll be contracted to support Komodo Health’s finance operations as part of a global team.
