Valley Vision Optometry is hiring a full-time Vision Care Coordinator for our independent practice in Port Alberni. In this role, you will be a key support for patient care through clinical assistance and administrative tasks, while also providing backup in reception and sales.
What You'll Do
- Administer eye drops, ointments, and medications as directed by the optometrist.
- Prepare all exam rooms, including sterilization and calibration of instruments.
- Obtain and record a patient’s preliminary case history.
- Perform diagnostic testing as directed by the optometrist.
- Utilize electronic medical records to assist the doctor in the exam room as a medical note taker.
- Assist with contact lens training, diagnostic lens orders, and follow-up patient visits.
- Learn all facets of patient reception and optical styling and sales to provide backup to the team when necessary.
- Perform other duties as requested by the leadership team.
What We're Looking For
- Proficient in the use of the internet and Microsoft Office.
- Solid keyboarding skills: 50 WPM.
- Excellent spelling and clear communication.
- Strong ability to function on multiple tracks at the same time.
- Self-starter with a willingness to move things forward in a professional manner.
