About the Role

Golden Hippo is hiring a Territory Sales Manager to be the driving force behind our Golden Pet Brand’s success in Northern California. You will own your territory's growth, focusing on expanding our retail store base, acquiring new accounts, and achieving stellar sales results.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and acquire new stores within your assigned territory.
  • Manage and grow focused accounts through HQ relationships and joint business planning.
  • Build and maintain strong distribution and store-level relationships.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets while managing trade spend and travel budget.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports to the sales management team.
  • Monitor, adapt to, and report on market trends and competitive activity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
  • Ensure flawless execution of new product launches, promotions, and marketing programs.
  • Attend industry events to represent the brands and expand your network.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of pet brands and the independent pet channel.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years of experience in the Pet Industry selling to retailers at store level.
  • 3 years of experience selling through distributor sales reps.
  • Thorough understanding of the pet industry, including pet distributors and retailers.
  • Knowledge of sales management within the retail channel.
  • Ability to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with focused accounts.
  • Curiosity and commitment to ongoing growth and uncovering new opportunities.
  • Capable of strategic planning to maximize sales within the designated territory.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, detail-oriented with exceptional follow-through.
  • In-depth understanding of how regional chains operate and collaborating with headquarters.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changes in launching new brands and products.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience selling through distributor sales reps.
  • 5 years of experience in the Pet Industry selling to retailers at store level.

  • Compensation: $77,800-$103,800
