nVent is looking for a Technical Business Development Representative to achieve deployed sales across North America for our high-density data center cooling product line. This remote, Central US-based role is central to our strategy for growth in the advanced cooling market, requiring a professional who can build relationships, manage a full sales cycle, and execute on commercial objectives.
What You'll Do
- Achieve deployed sales in North America for the data center cooling product line across the Central US.
- Participate in developing and executing strategic and tactical business plans, working with leadership to set commercial engagement and growth strategy.
- Develop a sales plan, including prospecting, managing the lead opportunity funnel through the sales cycle, and providing forecasts.
- Establish, cultivate, and maintain relationships with end-users, engineering firms, integrators, and select channel partners.
- Continuously scan for new sales prospects, lead account penetration strategies, assist in proposal preparation, and follow through to closing orders.
- Provide regular updates on new business opportunities and sales pipeline to management via CRM.
- Improve team performance through professional development and a deep understanding of clients’ business needs.
- Maintain knowledge of competitors’ activities and industry relationships.
- Focus on maintaining margins by driving pricing and ensuring compliance with profitability objectives.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to work remotely from a home office in the Central US.
- Ability to travel an average of 30-40% of the time.
- A valid driver's license.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of validated sales experience with 2+ years focused on business development in the Data Center sector.
- Experience selling Data Center/IT precision and liquid cooling solutions to multiple customer types, including end users, distributors, consultants, engineers, contractors, and OEMs.
- Validated understanding of Data Center infrastructure products and applications, preferably with experience in data center cooling technology.
- Ability to define and quantify opportunities through customer research.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate using compromise, persuasion, influence, and diplomacy in a selling environment.
- Experience working with Salesforce.com or a similar CRM program.
- Ability to develop positive regional relationships to assess trends and translate them into opportunities.

- Compensation varies by region: Geographic Region A: $101,400.00 - $188,300.00+; Geographic Region B: $110,600.00 - $205,400.00+; Geographic Region C: $96,300.00 - $178,800.00+.
