General Dynamics NASSCO is looking for a Talent Development Specialist I to design and facilitate courses in leadership development. You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on training effectiveness and conducting needs assessments to support organizational goals across all NASSCO facilities.
What You'll Do
- Conduct training needs analyses and formulate training or other strategies to meet identified needs and corporate objectives.
- Effectively prepare course objectives, outlines, lesson plans, handouts, and other instructional material.
- Lead and facilitate leadership training classes to ensure effective utilization of students' time.
- Manage logistics for leadership development programs and activities, including venues and equipment.
- Interface with other department members to ensure comprehensive and timely responses to training issues.
- Coordinate training functions with supervisor, assist in establishing training schedules, and monitor student progress.
- Assist with the development of leadership development programs and consistently manage them for maximum effectiveness.
- Evaluate business initiatives to determine appropriate development interventions needed to meet organizational goals.
- Coordinate with various business units, vendors, and consultants to research and identify materials needed for training course development and implementation.
- Interface with business units to incorporate product changes or modifications into new or existing training programs.
- Maintain communication across the organization to keep courses current.
- Revise course content to reflect changes in processes, procedures, corporate issues, and strategy.
- Track attendance and feedback for courses and generate reports from collected data.
- Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, I/O Psychology, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Two years instructor-led facilitation experience.
- Project management skills.
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to effectively deliver course material to all levels within the organization.
- Strong attention to detail.
Team & Environment
May lead the work of others within the department. Acts as an internal expert on development issues in coordination with the Employee Relations department.
