About the Role

McLaren Health Care is hiring a Surgical Technologist Certified to join our surgical teams. In this role, you will assist surgeons and other medical professionals in operating rooms by preparing patients, rooms, and equipment for procedures and providing direct support during surgery.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare operating rooms, ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly disinfected, assembled, and in working order.
  • Ensure the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field in the operating room.
  • Provide supportive care during the pre-operative phase.
  • Prepare patient's skin for surgery; move and position patients; monitor vital signs and observe status.
  • During surgery perform scrub functions including passing sterile equipment, cutting sutures, tracking items, performing instrument counts, collecting and labeling specimens, and helping dress wounds.
  • Ensure operating rooms are clean, sterile, and stocked prior to the next procedure.
  • Perform clerical duties such as ordering supplies, maintaining logs, entering patient information, doing inventory, and supporting administrative staff.
  • Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
  • Ensure compliance with all health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to infection-control, hazardous waste and other policies.
  • Perform other related duties as required and directed.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited surgical technology training program and certification as a Surgical Technologist from the NBSTSA with a minimum of one month directly related clinical experience; OR Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C) certification from the NCCT with two years of experience working as a non-certified Surgical Technologist.
  • BLS certification.

Nice to Have

  • One year of experience.

This is an onsite position located in Pontiac, Michigan.
