Senra Systems is hiring a Strategic Components Buyer to manage the procurement of critical materials and components for our wire harness manufacturing operations. You'll work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where being proactive and results-driven is essential for success.
What You'll Do
- Source and procure components such as wires, connectors, terminals, and other materials critical to wire harness manufacturing.
- Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers to expand the supply base while minimizing risks.
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives and improve supplier performance strategies to enhance production efficiency and profitability.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers to ensure alignment on quality, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Conduct regular supplier audits to evaluate performance, compliance with industry standards, and adherence to company specifications.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to forecast component needs based on upcoming projects, ensuring seamless manufacturing processes.
- Ensure all components meet industry-specific and company-quality standards, collaborating with the quality team to address and resolve any quality-related issues.
- Stay informed about market trends, material price fluctuations, and potential disruptions to proactively manage risks and maintain supply chain stability.
- Take on special projects as needed to support the business needs and enhance the procurement function.
What We're Looking For
- Strong skills in negotiating with suppliers and managing supplier relationships.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret various technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Willingness to travel for supplier visits and audits as required.
- To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
Nice to Have
- Experience in wire harness manufacturing or a similar industry is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with wire harness components and manufacturing processes is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620.
- Proficiency in CAD design tools.
