Accela is hiring a Strategic Account Manager (SAM), SanMar Sports to drive growth and build long-term partnerships within the team sports market. In this role, you will collaborate with the Sr. Channel Manager, inside sales, and Territory Managers to identify new business opportunities and expand market share.
What You'll Do
- Sell SanMar’s value proposition effectively through targeted presentations and conversations with executives at the corporate level.
- Support presentations and communications regarding strategic plans in collaboration with Territory Managers.
- Build strong customer relationships with key executives and managers at the individual account and corporate office level.
- Act as a resource for individually owned and operated accounts on big opportunities at the local or national office level.
- Understand strategic goals and trends relevant to account growth and communicate this information effectively across sales and operational teams.
- Act as the customer’s advocate to push for change and improvements to meet customer demands and enhance the customer experience.
- Negotiate, track, and implement effective incentive, pricing, and product programs.
- Keep Salesforce up to date with key activities, meetings, communications, and related information.
- Schedule appointments and meetings in advance, planning for multiple weeks at a time.
- Develop impactful sales and marketing plans at the corporate level and create action plans with the strategic account for implementation across all offices.
- Work with the sales analytics team to collect and analyze data concerning account sales, profitability, programs, and activities.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- 4-6 years of related strategic or territory sales experience.
- Ability to travel 2-3 weeks per month primarily for meetings and presentations at corporate headquarters, trade shows, industry events, national account sales events, and key accounts/offices.
- Must live within 30 miles of a Major International Airport.
- Ability to build meaningful partnerships and communicate effectively with customers, sales team, and internal departments to identify and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Detail oriented; ability to follow-through on projects and handle multiple tasks at once.
- Ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.
- A high degree of professionalism, integrity, objectivity, and service orientation.
- Must be a leader, enthusiastic, energetic, “sales orientated” and outgoing.
- Flexibility to travel and relocation if needed.
- Exceptional organization, planning, and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of Salesforce or other similar CRM systems.

- Compensation: $120,000 - $170,000 annually, depending on experience.
