What You'll Do
Travel regularly between retail locations in Maryland and Virginia to diagnose, service, and repair critical systems including refrigeration units, HVAC equipment, cardboard balers, lighting, humidifiers, and checkout systems. Respond promptly to service requests and emergency breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to store operations.
Conduct routine preventive maintenance checks and document all work through accurate service reports, time logs, and expense records. Maintain clear communication with dispatch and supervision, providing updates and identifying when additional support is needed. Train store staff on proper equipment use and safety procedures, and assist in onboarding new technicians as required.
Keep your service vehicle and tools organized, safe, and ready for use. Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment, and adhere to food safety standards while working in retail environments. Demonstrate professionalism in every interaction with associates and store personnel.
Requirements
Must have EPA certification in Type I and II refrigerant handling and a valid driver’s license with a clean record eligible for company insurance. You should be comfortable working at heights up to 30 feet, including on roofs and ladders, and capable of using hand and power tools, diagnostic instruments, and technical manuals effectively.
Strong reading, writing, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret manufacturer guidelines and apply them in the field. Knowledge of OSHA standards and MSDS documentation is required. You must be able to manage multiple tasks, adjust priorities quickly, and work independently with minimal supervision.
