Role Overview
This position supports the reliable operation of retail locations by ensuring facilities and equipment remain in optimal condition. The technician performs a range of maintenance tasks across multiple stores in the Tallahassee area, focusing on preventive care, prompt repairs, and consistent documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance involving basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems
- Conduct inspections and preventive servicing of refrigeration, HVAC, and other in-store equipment
- Carry out interior repairs, including shelving, cabinetry, walls, and flooring
- Paint surfaces and clean fixtures to maintain store appearance and safety standards
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and complete necessary fixes or escalate to external vendors
- Order and manage parts and materials by coordinating with service providers
- Document all maintenance activities and communicate ongoing needs to team leads
- Attend training sessions to stay current with equipment updates and safety protocols
- Support team goals by completing related tasks as required
Physical and Work Requirements
Technicians must be physically able to lift up to 80 pounds, work in tight spaces, climb ladders, and operate hand and power tools. The role involves frequent crouching, crawling, and standing for extended periods. A valid driver’s license is required, as the job includes regular travel between store sites using a company vehicle.
Preferred Background
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 3 to 5 years of experience in general maintenance, refrigeration, or HVAC systems
