Role Overview
As a STEM Content Analyst on the Polymer team, you will play a key role in transforming technical patent documents into structured, searchable scientific data. Working within a specialized unit of a global IP services organization, your primary responsibility will be identifying and organizing critical chemical and polymer-related information from international patent literature.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze polymer-focused patents to identify novel scientific content and apply standardized classification codes according to internal editorial guidelines
- Index and structure data related to monomers, catalysts, additives, synthesis methods, processing techniques, and end-use applications
- Ensure accuracy and consistency in the representation of chemical information within a proprietary patent database
- Stay current with advancements in polymer chemistry and related scientific domains to support high-quality data curation
- Collaborate with team members to maintain indexing standards and contribute to continuous improvement of workflows
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Inorganic Chemistry, or a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Polymer Technology. A minimum of three years of experience in scientific content analysis is required, with strong written and spoken English skills.
Proficiency in interpreting technical datasets and familiarity with standard office software—including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint—are essential. Experience with chemical structure drawing tools such as ISIS Draw is preferred.
