Scout Motors is looking for a Senior Sales Engineer to accelerate sales cycles and ensure smooth customer adoption of GIA, G-P's AI SaaS product. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical aspects of the sales process, from initial discovery through to a successful handoff to the implementation team.
What You'll Do
- Lead technical discovery with prospects and customers, mapping workflows, integrations, data flows, user roles, and success criteria.
- Translate customer requirements into a clear solution approach and implementation plan.
- Identify early blockers in security, IT, data/privacy, and legal/compliance and drive their resolution.
- Deliver compelling, tailored product demonstrations aligned to HR, legal, and compliance use cases and buyer personas.
- Own proof-of-value pilots and proofs-of-concept, including scoping, timeline, success metrics, configuration, and final readout.
- Build lightweight prototype configurations, templates, or workflows to prove value quickly.
- Act as the technical lead for vendor assessments covering SOC 2, data privacy, retention, access controls, audit logs, encryption, SSO/SAML, and SCIM.
- Create and maintain technical sales documentation such as security one-pagers, architecture diagrams, and FAQs.
- Partner with internal Security and Legal teams to streamline responses and build reusable artifacts.
- Capture and synthesize voice-of-customer feedback to inform product roadmap and packaging.
- Enable Sales and Customer Success teams with demo scripts, competitive positioning, technical objection handling, and POV playbooks.
- Contribute to scalable assets like demo environments, sample data sets, and repeatable configurations.
- Partner closely with Account Executives on account strategy, mutual action plans, and executive storytelling.
- Coordinate with Product and Engineering on escalations and customer-specific needs without derailing the roadmap.
- Support smooth handoffs to Customer Success and Implementation with clear success criteria and technical context.
What We're Looking For
- 6–10+ years in Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or Pre-Sales for B2B SaaS targeting mid-market and enterprise customers.
- Strong ability to run technical discovery and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Proven experience navigating enterprise IT and security requirements, including SSO/SAML, SCIM, SOC 2, and data privacy.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics to both executives and practitioners.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and building repeatable processes in a fast-moving environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI/LLM products, agents, RAG, knowledge bases, or workflow automation platforms.
- Familiarity with HR tech, legal tech, or compliance workflows and their stakeholders.
- Experience with APIs, webhooks, integrations, and light scripting in Python or JavaScript for demonstrations and POVs.
- Experience supporting Product-Led Sales motions, including product-qualified lead (PQL) sales assists and enterprise expansion.
