The YMCA of Southwest Florida is seeking a Specialty Program Instructor for our Home School Enrichment program. In this role, you will lead instruction and skill development in a specialized area, creating rewarding experiences for enrolled participants under the guidance of the Program Director.

What You'll Do

Organize, plan, and execute all activities for enrolled participants.
Prepare for special program presentations.
Monitor your area at all times to ensure safety and immediately make changes as necessary.
Work closely with other team members to provide a positive environment and actively encourage participation.
Exemplify appropriate behavior as a role model, showing patience, understanding, and respect.
Instruct and guide participants through session rules and ensure adherence.
Immediately report all unusual incidents or accidents to the Program Director and complete all applicable reports.
Record daily attendance and maintain accurate, complete records.
Ensure the program environment is neat, orderly, and free of all safety impediments.
Develop and foster interpersonal relationships between participants, creating an environment of cooperation, friendliness, and helpfulness.
Ensure all necessary supplies are on hand and well maintained.

What We're Looking For

Prior experience with the specialty program offering, preferably in a learning environment.
Experience working with children in group settings (teaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs).
Confidence designing and leading age-appropriate activities.
Enthusiasm for your area of specialization and sharing that knowledge with others.
Ability to adhere to a drug/alcohol/smoke free workplace policy.
Strong communication skills with both students and parents.
Successful completion of a State of Florida Criminal History Background Check and adherence to the Association’s background screening policies.
CPR and First Aid certifications.
Completion of YMCA Blood Borne Pathogens Training.
Completion of YMCA Child Sexual Abuse Prevention class.
Adherence to Staff Safety Requirements and Cleaning Protocols.
