Join Black & Veatch, an employee-owned company building a world of difference. We are looking for a Site QC Manager to implement and maintain project quality plans and procedures while acting as a key interface between project sites, procurement, corporate offices, and clients.
What You'll Do
- Establish, implement, and maintain the site quality program.
- Coordinate with engineers, suppliers, subcontractors, regulatory representatives, and field personnel to ensure work is done correctly the first time.
- Assure on-site work meets applicable codes and specifications.
- Conduct surveillance and audits of site Contractor Quality Control Programs.
- Establish the inspection plan and track inspections and actions identified.
- Approve site testing (e.g., soils, concrete placement, grout breaks) and verify proper documentation.
- Review and control documentation for the certification of construction and testing equipment.
- Review turnover packages prior to handoff to Startup.
- Assist in coordinating punchlist walkdowns and inspections; establish and manage the punchlist.
- Collate Quality Control documentation for final handover to the Owner.
- Interface with clients and government officials.
- Develop and implement quality programs to help meet company and division goals.
- May act as a Quality Consultant for internal and external clients.
- May act as a temporary project fill-in for lower-level quality professionals.
- Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports.
- Act as a mentor to other quality professionals.
- Implement Safety, Quality, Ethical Standards, and Lessons Learned programs.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and change management.
- Supervise the work of others.
- Be responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of subordinates, including Site QC Inspectors and Site QC Representatives.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years as a Superintendent with a degree, or 5+ years without a degree.
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected), which may include criminal/civil background checks, drug screens, and motor vehicle records searches.
Nice to Have
- High School Diploma or geographical equivalent qualification.
- Degree or craft apprenticeship in Engineering, Quality, Business, or Construction Management.
- Certification in a relevant discipline (e.g., AWS, CWI, ISM) or relevant geographical equivalent.
Team & Environment
This role is an individual contributor position with no direct subordinates but carries supervisory responsibility for the work of others on assigned project sites.
