Role Overview
As a Resident Engineer, you will oversee the construction supervision of critical infrastructure and community development initiatives in Dubai. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that all project elements are executed in accordance with contractual obligations, technical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage engineering scope, scheduling, change control, and project closeout for assigned components
- Track construction progress to verify alignment with budget and timeline targets
- Identify and formally record changes in project scope
- Coordinate with Dubai government authorities to secure necessary approvals and facilitate handover of services and facilities
- Engage with contractors and subcontractors to ensure adherence to contract terms and quality deliverables
- Review and approve construction work to confirm compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety protocols
- Process and authorize change orders in coordination with project leadership
- Communicate updates and deviations to project stakeholders and management
- Maintain clear communication with the client to align expectations and report progress
- Support compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout project execution
- Safeguard organizational interests by ensuring fulfillment of contractual rights and responsibilities
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution is required. Candidates must have a minimum of 15 years of experience in construction supervision, with a strong focus on infrastructure such as roads and utilities, as well as residential and mixed-use community developments—preferably within Dubai.
Proven familiarity with Dubai’s NOC processes, commissioning procedures, and government authority requirements is essential. Strong written and verbal communication abilities, technical proficiency in engineering standards, and competence in relevant software tools are expected. Knowledge of construction safety, environmental practices, and regulatory compliance is also required.
Preferred candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, experience mentoring teams, and a track record of effective collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
