About the Role

This position leads legal teams in advancing immigrant rights through high-impact litigation, legal strategy development, and supervision of attorneys and support staff. The role involves shaping policy initiatives, managing complex cases, and collaborating with advocacy partners to challenge unjust immigration practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage teams of attorneys and legal staff working on immigrant rights cases
  • Develop and implement strategic litigation plans targeting systemic injustices
  • Supervise case development, legal research, and court filings
  • Represent clients in administrative and court proceedings
  • Collaborate with advocacy organizations to coordinate legal and policy efforts
  • Provide mentorship and professional development guidance to junior staff
  • Oversee compliance with legal standards and procedural requirements
  • Draft motions, briefs, and appellate arguments
  • Engage in policy analysis and legislative advocacy related to immigration law
  • Conduct community outreach and education on immigrant legal rights
  • Respond to emerging legal crises affecting immigrant populations
  • Coordinate multi-jurisdictional legal actions when necessary
  • Ensure alignment of legal strategies with organizational mission
  • Maintain detailed case records and reporting systems
  • Participate in public speaking and media engagements on key issues
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements
  • Support fundraising efforts through case impact reporting
  • Work with interpreters and cultural liaisons to ensure client access
  • Stay current on changes in immigration law and enforcement practices
  • Foster inclusive team culture grounded in equity and justice principles
