Illumina, Inc. is hiring a Senior Sequencing Sales Specialist for the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware region. In this customer-facing role, you will serve as a strategic and technical sales resource for Illumina's Sequencing and multiomic product portfolios, working collaboratively with a team of account managers to achieve sales objectives.
What You'll Do
- Work closely with marketing, Territory Account Managers, Inside Sales, and other specialists to support strategic and revenue goals as an overlay sales specialist.
- Assist District Sales Managers and Territory Account Managers with developing customized yearly and quarterly territory plans, including target markets and sales strategies.
- Regularly meet with customers individually and as part of an Illumina team.
- Prepare and present compelling technical seminars on Illumina Sequencing product lines and applications.
- Develop long-term customer relationships as a trusted consultant and connect customers with internal teams.
- Ensure the sales team is trained on relevant technical, product, method, and application information.
- Leverage technical knowledge to advance sales and rapidly become an expert on new Illumina innovations.
- Read, understand, and communicate current scientific and clinical research.
- Maintain broad knowledge of the market environment, competition, industry trends, and third-party methods.
- Assist with and develop workshops, seminar series, and other marketing activities.
- Distinguish between regular sales and business development opportunities, involving the correct internal partners.
- Proactively use and support the expanded network of national and global sequencing specialists.
- Coordinate and communicate strategic business plans effectively to managers and internal stakeholders.
- Advise internal teams with deep product, customer, market, and application knowledge.
- Participate in customer-facing company events such as conferences and user group meetings.
- Lead without authority, maintain positivity, and inspire peers, customers, and collaborators.
What We're Looking For
- BA/BS, MS, or equivalent degree in Life or Biological Sciences.
- Technological expert on the majority of relevant Next Generation Sequencing and multiomic applications, basic informatics, and the clinical and research sequencing markets.
- Presentation experience, capable of delivering a persuasive message by integrating sales and technical acumen.
- Learns quickly and independently, able to develop and maintain deep current knowledge of multiomics and sequencing applications.
- Highly self-motivated, independent, adaptable, and successful individual who enjoys a challenging and dynamic work environment.
- Driven with a strong desire to win business and establish long-term customer relationships.
- Team player with excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel ~50% within territory, with some trips outside territory.
Nice to Have
- Customer-facing sales or support experience in the Life Sciences or Genomics.
- Ph.D. or Masters in Biological Sciences, Genetics, Genomics, or a related field.
- MBA.

You will work as part of a team of account managers to achieve regional sales objectives and monitor market and competitor activities.

- Compensation range: $105,600 - $158,400 + equity: Eligible roles may receive equity.
