Scout Motors is hiring a Senior Product Manager, AI Platform to lead the evolution of our AI initiatives. As the lead strategist and primary owner of the functional logic for our backend intelligence system, you will drive the AI product lifecycle from data quality initiatives to self-repairing agentic workflows, transforming a massive proprietary knowledge graph into autonomous reasoning capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Define and execute the roadmap for our AI infrastructure, owning requirements for orchestration layers, prompt management systems, and platform architecture.
- Lead the strategy for model selection, fine-tuning, and deployment, evaluating trade-offs between frontier models and domain-specific Small Language Models (SLMs).
- Establish rigorous evaluation frameworks and benchmarking for non-deterministic AI outputs to ensure accuracy, provenance, and reliability.
- Define product requirements for agentic workflows, Model Context Protocols (MCPs), and 'self-repairing' systems that maintain data integrity at scale.
- Partner with 'Front-end' Application PMs to ensure backend capabilities translate into seamless user experiences.
- Author business cases and define business outcomes for significant technical shifts in the AI stack.
- Translate complex analyst tradecraft and investigative methodologies into automated 'Skills' and agentic reasoning.
- Act as a Cultural Architect for AI, evangelizing a 'Quality-First' mindset and ensuring human-centric, ethical accountability.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of Product Management experience, specifically focused on backend platforms or AI/ML engines.
- 2-4+ years of experience in Product Management of AI-driven solutions with deep Generative AI fluency.
- Proven ability to drive requirements for complex AI systems, including prompt engineering frameworks, agent orchestration, and automated evaluation systems.
- Domain Intelligence: Prior experience leveraging risk, intelligence, supply chain, or financial investigation data to solve complex customer problems.
- Systems Thinking: Experience managing a 'Platform-as-a-Product' model, building reusable backend components.
- Technical Fluency: Comfortable discussing model architecture, embedding strategies, and infrastructure trade-offs with engineering peers.
- Outcome-Oriented Requirements: A track record of translating vague technical possibilities into high-impact, executable product requirements.
- Decision Agency under Ambiguity: Proven ability to make high-stakes product bets in non-deterministic, messy data environments.
Nice to Have
- Reasoning with Knowledge Graphs: Experience defining how complex entity-relationship data should be leveraged to automate high-order reasoning tasks.
- Model Implementation: Technical familiarity with model fine-tuning, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), or the deployment of SLMs in production.

You will partner with a Front-end AI PM counterpart, Engineering, and Business Units.

- Compensation: $185,000-$200,000 USD + equity.
