About the Role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a Senior Officer, Technical Partnerships for Economic Recovery & Development (ERD+). This role is central to driving IRC’s ambitious Impact @ Scale plans by bringing together internal teams to grow strategic new business opportunities and meet private fundraising ambitions. You will serve on agile team models within a matrix management structure.

What You'll Do

  • Influence and guide strategic private-sector engagement across fundraising priorities (30% of role).
  • Work closely with leadership to develop and implement business development strategy, including strategic positioning materials and donor engagement plans.
  • Represent Impact @ Scale priority areas within agile teams and thought leadership working groups.
  • Influence resource-mobilization strategies for Impact @ Scale, help shape donor pathways geared toward scale, and support alignment across teams.
  • Work with Global Practice Leads, Regional Leads and fundraisers to shape project ideas, proactive messaging, and funding need pitches.
  • Demonstrate a strong command of current global thought leadership and advancements in applicable subject matter.
  • Provide high-level advisory input to Global Practice Leads and fundraising teams across priority areas (Business Development - 30%).
  • Maintain portfolio of support for key priority areas, including 'ready for scale' priorities.
  • Work alongside technical leads and the Marketing & Mobilization team to develop multifaceted and compelling materials for specific audiences.
  • Support the creation of stewardship plans for restricted and loosely restricted donors.
  • Lead and/or support proposal development processes as needed for ERD and other priority areas.
  • Participate in donor meetings providing technical expertise and strategy support.
  • Complement and amplify the capacity of the ERD and fundraising teams to engage with and secure private donations.
  • Maintain knowledge of IRC ERD technical approaches, operating contexts, and sectoral trends.
  • Help develop and operationalize standard ways of working and process workflows for cross-functional projects (Internal coordination & process improvements - 20%).
  • Ensure an outstanding level of support to our internal partners, including coordinating and leading effective cross-functional meetings.
  • Work with Technical Units and High Value counterparts to create information sharing systems.
  • For strategic partnerships, engage across the duration of a grant to ensure donor requirements are met and design a long-term engagement strategy (Portfolio management support - 20%).
  • As appropriate, provide post-award project management support on large strategic grants.

What We're Looking For

  • 6-7 years of related work experience, preferably with a large International Non-Governmental Organization in programs, fundraising and/or advocacy.
  • Outstanding communication, relationship management, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Experience with global Economic Recovery & Development programming in low-resource settings.
  • Experience working with fundraising and grants management processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate around ERD programming and strategy across both technical and lay audiences.
  • Experience fundraising for ERD or related programming; ability to quickly get up to speed on technical content and strategy.
  • Excellent track record of delivering on sophisticated proposals and projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in international development, social work, or other relevant area, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience across strategic partnership development, program design and development, fundraising and communications channels.
  • Experience developing and implementing multi-million-dollar partnerships.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of other IRC languages (Spanish, French, Arabic) would be an asset.
  • International experience across diverse contexts; working with global, cross-cultural teams.
  • Master’s degree in related field or equivalent experience a bonus.

Team & Environment

You will be part of the Program Services team, managed in partnership between Program Services and the IRC’s Economic Recovery and Development Technical Unit. This role is an integral part of a matrix management structure.

Benefits & Compensation

  • US Pay Range: $95,000 - $106,000
  • UK Pay Range: £55,000 - £64,000

This is a remote position.
