Amgen Inc. is hiring a Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer to ensure the continuous operation of Automated Warehouse Systems (ASRS) and to support the design, implementation, validation, and integration of automated material movement systems within our biotech manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

• Ensure Automated Warehouse System (ASRS) continuous operation and OEE goals by monitoring equipment health, troubleshooting and correcting any errors or equipment failures.
• Support the design, implementation and validation of the physical and automated material movement flow of inbound and outbound materials between the automated storage systems and Production areas.
• Support and ensure successful integration and update between the current Automated Warehouse Management Control Systems SAP eWM ERP system, Host interfaces, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and any new capacity expansion initiatives.
• Support design and implementation of business processes associated with the Automated warehouse.
• Provide oversight of the Automated warehouse equipment including cranes, conveyors, Automated Guided Vehicles and other material management equipment.
• Work closely with Engineering, Digital Technology Innovation, Maintenance, Construction, Commissioning/Qualification, EHSS and Design teams to provide support planning, coordination and execution of the Automated Warehouse System.
• Be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the Automated Warehouse Management Software/Hardware, AGVs, Host interfaces (SAP eWM) including change management, quality management and document management.
• Monitor daily performance of the systems, looking for trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support capital planning for expansion, recapitalization for new or existing warehouse systems and equipment.
• Manage direct reports.
• Travel to various unanticipated worksites nationally and internationally (2%).

What We're Looking For

• Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Information Security or a related field.
• 2 years of experience in ASRS, automated systems and Robotics.
• 2 years of experience with Allen Bradley Automation SCADA and PLC Platform.
• 2 years of Automation/controls experience within a manufacturing support environment.
• 2 years of knowledge of Automated Systems operation and management.
• 2 years of experience in an FDA (cGMP) or regulated environment in the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry.
• 2 years of troubleshooting and issue resolution experience.
• 2 years of knowledge of the project management cycle and how to support in the development and delivery of a project.
