About the Role

Spark Networks, Inc. is looking for a Senior Manager, Search Engine Marketing to lead and manage SEM initiatives, driving paid traffic growth and enhancing our digital presence. You will develop and implement SEM strategies, manage search accounts, and collaborate cross-functionally to connect people and spark meaningful relationships.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee day-to-day management of paid search campaigns across assigned clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and performance delivery.
  • Monitor pacing, budgets, and KPIs, implementing optimizations to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee performance of outsourced SEM vendor, ensuring they meet deliverables, deadlines, and quality standards.
  • Facilitate clear communication and provide direction to maximize vendor efficiency.
  • Contribute to test-and-learn roadmaps, including ad copy tests, keyword expansions, and feature adoption.
  • Stay current on search platform updates and provide recommendations on new tools, features, or betas.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key SEM metrics and performance against established goals.
  • Utilize analytics tools to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with performance marketing, engineering, product, content creation, and web development teams.
  • Keep abreast of the latest SEM trends, algorithm changes, and best practices.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience managing paid search campaigns (Google, Pmax, Bing, Apple).
  • 2+ years managing paid app campaigns via Google and Apple.
  • Prior experience managing outsourced vendors.
  • Strong understanding of search engine algorithms, keyword research tools, and analytics platforms.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in mentoring and developing teams.
  • Proactive and strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
