About the Role

Bank of Montreal (BMO) is looking for a Senior Manager - Practice Management to provide subject matter expertise and effective solutions within the Project Management practice area, supporting business strategies. You will ensure PMPO initiatives are maintained and sustained, applying change management expertise to drive results.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic input as a trusted project management advisor for business decisions.
  • Make recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on relevant project management and user acceptance processes.
  • Manage resources and lead the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals.
  • Develop the business case by identifying needs, analyzing options, and assessing return on investment.
  • Recommend business priorities, advise on resource requirements, and develop a roadmap for strategic execution.
  • Act as the prime subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Define business requirements for analytics and reporting to inform business decision-making.
  • Lead change management programs of varying scope, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, and sustainment.
  • Lead the development of communication strategies to positively influence or change behavior.
  • Collaborate across BMO to develop communications strategies and ensure consistency of messaging.
  • Work with stakeholders to establish priorities.
  • Provide advice and guidance to Project Management Offices.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand practice management solutions.
  • Provide input into the planning and implementation of practice management programs.
  • Support the development and execution of strategic initiatives with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Break down strategic problems and analyze data to provide practice management insights and recommendations.
  • Employ systems to manage information and integrate data from multiple sources for efficient processes and enhanced analysis.
  • Execute work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service.
  • Operate at an enterprise-wide level as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Apply expertise and think creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and solve complex, non-routine problems.
  • Implement changes in response to shifting trends.

What We're Looking For

  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience in BMO Project Management.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PMP certification.
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge.
  • In-depth/expert verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-depth/expert analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth/expert influence skills.
  • In-depth/expert collaboration and team skills with a focus on cross-group collaboration.
  • Able to manage ambiguity.
