Phoenix, United States of America Hybrid USD 86,200 - 110,000 Yearly

Make-A-Wish America is hiring a Senior Manager, Entertainment & Sports Relations

As Senior Manager, Entertainment & Sports Relations, you will drive meaningful connections with influential figures and organizations across the entertainment and sports worlds. Your primary focus will be cultivating long-term relationships that open doors to unique wish experiences for children and their families. You’ll lead a team dedicated to delivering exceptional outcomes, ensuring every interaction reflects care, professionalism, and alignment with core values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain partnerships with agents, athletes, celebrities, and media entities to expand wish fulfillment opportunities.
  • Supervise direct reports through coaching, goal setting, and performance oversight, aligning team efforts with national objectives.
  • Coordinate complex wish logistics involving public figures, managing all details from initial contact to final execution.
  • Act as the central point of contact between external partners and internal teams, including local chapters and global affiliates.
  • Secure in-kind donations and financial contributions—such as tickets, memorabilia, and exclusive experiences—to support annual revenue targets.
  • Maintain accurate records in Salesforce, including contact profiles, communication history, and wish tracking.
  • Support crisis communication efforts involving celebrity-related wishes in collaboration with PR and leadership teams.
  • Represent the organization at events and wish fulfillments, ensuring seamless coordination and strong relationship stewardship.
  • Develop resources and best practices for teams engaging with high-profile individuals, in partnership with leadership.
  • Identify and engage local volunteers or celebrity hosts when direct participation isn’t possible.

Qualifications

Candidates should bring at least five years of experience in sports, entertainment, or a related field, with a focus on relationship management and high-impact event coordination. Three or more years leading teams is required. You must demonstrate discretion when handling sensitive situations, possess strong emotional intelligence, and communicate effectively across diverse groups. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential; Salesforce experience is strongly preferred.

A background in nonprofit or mission-driven work is valuable, as is experience operating in remote or distributed environments. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-moving settings, adapts quickly to shifting priorities, and leads through influence rather than authority.

Work Environment

This role operates in a hybrid model, with remote options available across the continental U.S. and hybrid expectations for those based in Phoenix, AZ. Occasional travel (up to 25%) and non-traditional hours—including weekends and weekday evenings—will be necessary to support events and wish activities.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $86,200 to $110,000 annually, with potential for an annual incentive payout. Additional offerings include a 5% 401(k) match after one year, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage from day one, and access to a fully employer-funded Health Reimbursement Account. Employees also benefit from flexible spending accounts, disability and life insurance, student loan forgiveness eligibility, and a range of voluntary plans.

Time off includes paid holidays, PTO, sick days, personal days, volunteer days, and parental leave. Professional development, employee recognition, and discounts on entertainment and travel are also available. New hires receive a laptop, monitor, and docking station to support remote work.
