American Family Insurance is hiring a Senior Litigation Attorney in St. Louis, MO to protect our policyholders and guide them through complex legal challenges. In this role, you will represent our insureds in the legal system and manage moderately complex civil litigation with the highest ethical standards.
What You'll Do
- Manage moderately complex civil litigation for American Family and our insureds, following established guidelines
- Analyze cases, strategize for optimal outcomes, and pursue settlements when appropriate
- Lead discovery, draft pleadings and briefs, and conduct research to support your litigation strategy
- Represent clients in trials, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences
- Advocate for clients in state and federal courts, administrative tribunals, and regulatory hearings
- Stay ahead of legal trends and ensure our policies remain strong and enforceable
What We're Looking For
- Admitted to the MO State Bar
- Juris Doctor degree
- Demonstrated litigation experience
- Demonstrated experience preparing civil pleadings, motions, and discovery and deposing witnesses
- Solid knowledge and understanding of rules of Professional Responsibility for your jurisdiction
- Solid knowledge and understanding of tort, contract, and insurance law
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service
Nice to Have
- Admission to the IL Bar is helpful

You will collaborate with talented colleagues and report directly to a Senior Manager in our Legal department.

- Compensation Range: $113,000.00 - $194,000.00
