About the Role
This role leads audits to verify adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements, identifies areas for improvement, and supports continuous risk reduction across facilities and processes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive audits of health, safety, and environmental programs at various locations
- Evaluate compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Prepare detailed audit reports with findings and corrective action recommendations
- Follow up on previous audit issues to confirm resolution
- Collaborate with site teams to understand operational risks
- Use standardized audit protocols and digital tools for data collection
- Identify trends in non-compliance and suggest systemic improvements
- Support development of audit schedules and risk-based prioritization
- Train auditors and share best practices across regions
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes
- Work with legal and compliance teams on regulatory interpretations
- Assist in emergency preparedness reviews
- Review incident investigation reports for audit context
- Promote a culture of safety through audit feedback
- Ensure audit documentation meets internal and external standards
- Participate in internal quality assurance of audit processes
- Travel frequently to field locations as needed
- Coordinate with third-party auditors when applicable
- Report audit metrics to senior management
- Support corporate sustainability initiatives through data collection
- Advise on environmental permit compliance
- Assess hazardous material handling procedures
- Review personal protective equipment programs
- Evaluate contractor safety performance
- Contribute to policy updates based on audit insights

Travel Requirements
This role requires up to 50% travel, including overnight stays and visits to distribution centers, job sites, and vendor facilities across multiple regions
