Starburst is hiring a Senior Enterprise Account Executive (SLED/FED)

About the Role

The position is responsible for identifying, engaging, and closing enterprise opportunities in the SLED and federal government sectors, using consultative selling techniques to position technical solutions aligned with customer missions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end sales cycles for large-scale data platform solutions within government entities
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key decision-makers in public sector organizations
  • Identify new business opportunities through strategic prospecting in SLED and federal markets
  • Collaborate with pre-sales engineering to deliver tailored technical demonstrations
  • Negotiate complex contracts and procurement processes typical in government sales
  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements
  • Deliver executive-level presentations outlining business value and technical fit
  • Track and report on sales pipeline metrics and forecast accuracy
  • Coordinate with partner organizations involved in government contracting
  • Stay current on federal IT modernization initiatives and data policy trends
  • Align solution capabilities with agency-specific use cases and pain points
  • Manage multiple stakeholders across procurement, technical, and executive teams
  • Ensure post-sale handoff to customer success teams for smooth onboarding
  • Represent the company at industry events and government technology forums
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor offerings in the public sector space
  • Drive renewal and expansion motions within existing government accounts
  • Utilize CRM tools to document customer interactions and sales progress
  • Advocate for customer needs internally to influence product roadmap
  • Follow structured sales methodologies tailored to government procurement timelines
  • Support RFP and RFQ responses with accurate technical and commercial data
  • Navigate multi-year budget cycles common in public sector purchasing
  • Build relationships with systems integrators and federal partners
  • Communicate compliance and security certifications relevant to government buyers
  • Translate technical capabilities into mission outcomes for non-technical stakeholders
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and adherence to government ethics standards

Compensation

Competitive base salary plus commission and equity
