WSP USA Inc. is looking for a Senior Engineer Structures to contribute to major building projects. You will be a key part of an engineering team, focusing on design production and acting as a primary liaison with the WSP Canada Team, while also mentoring and coaching junior engineers.
What You'll Do
- Prepare feasibility study reports, review them with the Senior/Principal Engineer of Structures, and work with the WSP CA Team to assemble compliant design specifications.
- Clearly define building requirements and carry out detailed design, ensuring CDM, QA, and technical sign-off, including complex calculations.
- Review and monitor the production of calculations and ensure information for project costing is completed to deadline.
- Provide documentary information for tender preparation and deal with day-to-day queries from the WSP CA Team.
- Report any variance between constructed works and design intent and follow the design process to deliver cost-effective solutions.
- Follow document control, archiving, CDM, and QA processes, coaching junior staff in their usage.
- Raise the level of technical competence within the team and promote technical excellence in all projects.
- Develop a positive professional relationship with the WSP CA Team and participate in team meetings to disseminate information.
- Identify and act on potential risk issues and follow company commercial processes, flagging additional fees as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in the design of Building Structures with a demonstrated track record in a similar role.
- Good presentation skills and fluency in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology.
- Full proficiency with technical structural software, such as RAM Structural Steel, ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD.
- A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
- Demonstrated good management, communication, and technical skills, capable of working both within a team and independently.
- Strong people skills, team engagement, and mentoring abilities.
- Aspiration to become a Chartered Engineer.
- A B.Tech / M.Tech (Structures) degree.

- Knowledge of the French language.
