Role Overview
A Field Service Animatronic Technician plays a key role in maintaining the performance and appearance of animatronic displays across retail locations. This temporary position ensures that all equipment functions safely, reliably, and in alignment with visual standards to support customer engagement and store operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel regularly to assigned stores for scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair animatronic figures and related components to meet safety and presentation guidelines
- Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and extend operational life
- Deliver on-site and remote support to store teams, responding quickly to service requests
- Handle in-store repairs for returned animatronic items and coordinate parts logistics with technical support teams
- Keep detailed service records, including photo documentation of installations and repairs
- Submit expense reports using designated digital tools
- Use Excel and file management systems to track completed tasks and unresolved issues
- Work closely with regional and store-level leaders to resolve technical and merchandising challenges
- Offer insights to improve display layouts and visual impact
- Attend regular team check-ins and contribute to service improvement discussions
- Complete additional tasks as needed to support field operations
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to travel frequently between Monroeville and Glenshaw locations
- Strong initiative and clear communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow technical and visual instructions
- Background in mechanical or engineering repair work
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree
- One or more years of experience with seasonal retail or animatronics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Publisher, and Excel
Tools & Systems
Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Excel, expense reporting software, and digital file organization platforms.
Work Environment
This is a local, temporary position based in Monroeville and Glenshaw. Extensive in-market travel to multiple store locations is required. Technicians must be flexible with scheduling and able to respond to urgent service needs.
