What You'll Do
Take ownership of structural design and evaluation for marine structures such as jetties, caissons, floating platforms, and breakwaters. Conduct detailed static and dynamic analyses, accounting for environmental forces like wave action and vessel impacts. Ensure designs address long-term challenges including fatigue, corrosion, and extreme loading conditions.
Work closely with geotechnical specialists to develop sound foundation solutions using piles, gravity structures, or caissons. Integrate Building Information Modelling (BIM) into design workflows to improve accuracy and coordination. Prepare comprehensive design documentation, technical specifications, and construction support materials.
Lead quality assurance processes and contribute to the development of internal engineering standards. Support procurement activities, review fabrication plans, and respond to construction-phase technical queries. Present engineering solutions directly to clients and regulatory agencies, ensuring alignment with project goals and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience following qualification
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA, with at least 3 years of active standing
- Proven expertise in structural design using standards such as BS, Eurocode, API, and PIANC
- Strong background in dynamic load analysis and marine environmental conditions
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with BIM implementation in structural engineering workflows
Benefits
This role supports professional growth through leadership responsibilities, technical mentorship opportunities, and involvement in high-impact marine engineering initiatives. You’ll contribute to sustainable design practices and help shape best practices across engineering teams.
