AECOM is hiring a Senior Engineer - Marine Structural

Lead the structural design and assessment of marine infrastructure such as wharves, jetties, caissons, breakwaters, and floating systems. This role focuses on delivering technically sound, sustainable solutions for complex coastal and offshore projects under demanding environmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct structural design efforts using recognized codes including BS, Eurocode, API, and PIANC standards
  • Conduct static and dynamic structural analyses, accounting for wave action, berthing forces, and other environmental loads
  • Assess long-term durability factors such as corrosion resistance, fatigue behavior, and detailing for harsh marine settings
  • Collaborate with geotechnical specialists to develop appropriate foundation systems, including piles, gravity structures, and caissons
  • Produce comprehensive design documentation, technical specifications, and construction-ready drawings
  • Support procurement processes, fabrication oversight, and on-site resolution of engineering queries
  • Implement quality assurance protocols specific to marine structural projects
  • Guide junior engineers and provide expert input on technically complex assignments
  • Work with environmental teams to align designs with sustainability goals
  • Lead risk identification and develop effective mitigation strategies for marine installations
  • Present technical approaches and findings directly to clients during project meetings
  • Maintain awareness of evolving industry practices and emerging technologies in marine engineering
  • Ensure compliance with local and international maritime regulations through coordination with authorities
  • Develop internal best practice frameworks for marine structural design
  • Contribute to business growth through proposal development and client-facing presentations
  • Oversee the application of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in structural design workflows

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience following degree completion
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA for at least three years
