Teva Pharmaceutical Industries is hiring a Senior Director, Head of Business Operations and Portfolio PM for External Manufacturing. In this leadership role, you will design and implement governance for external manufacturing (ExM), own the integrated risk management process, and oversee a portfolio of projects involving contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs). Your work ensures projects are executed effectively and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
What You'll Do
- Establish, implement, and maintain a robust ExM operations and projects governance framework, including processes, roles, and responsibilities.
- Organize and lead portfolio governance and steering committee meetings to review project performance and make critical decisions.
- Define and enforce standard project management methodologies, templates, and tools for consistency across external manufacturing projects.
- Provide regular, high-level reporting on portfolio health, progress, and key metrics to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure the portfolio of external manufacturing projects is aligned with overall corporate and supply chain strategies.
- Facilitate the prioritization and selection of projects based on business value, resource availability, risk, and strategic importance.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio roadmap providing a long-term view of projects, timelines, and resource needs.
- Manage and allocate internal and external resources across the portfolio to optimize project execution.
- Proactively monitor the health of individual projects, tracking progress against milestones, budget, and scope.
- Identify, escalate, and manage portfolio-level risks and issues related to external partners, budget, schedule, and quality.
- Oversee and coordinate project dependencies across the portfolio and with internal departments to resolve conflicts.
- Act as a point of escalation for complex issues within projects, guiding teams toward effective resolution.
- Own the integrated risk management process for ExM, ensuring IRM leads are identified and the process is carried out robustly.
- Drive the development and implementation of mitigation plans and provide regular updates to the ExM leadership team.
- Set clear goals and expectations for the team aligned with organizational objectives.
- Provide guidance and motivation to keep the team engaged and productive.
- Monitor progress against goals and KPIs.
- Identify and resolve issues that hinder performance.
- Conduct performance reviews and support professional development.
- Address conflicts promptly and fairly.
- Coach and mentor team members for growth.
- Identify training needs and arrange learning opportunities.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Proven track record in project and portfolio management, preferably with a focus on manufacturing, supply chain, or external partner management.
- Experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., pharmaceuticals, medical devices).
- Strong ability to lead, influence, and motivate cross-functional teams in a matrix environment without direct authority.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to effectively communicate with and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to understand the larger business strategy and connect it to specific project goals and priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to assess portfolio performance, manage risks, and facilitate data-driven decisions.
- Financial acumen.
Nice to Have
- A Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program/Portfolio Management (PGMP) certification.
