Lead operational strategy and compliance across a network of airports by delivering expert guidance in environmental management, safety systems, and regulatory adherence. This role ensures that all sites maintain high standards in operational integrity, guest service, and sustainability through proactive planning, data oversight, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the collection, validation, and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions data in alignment with corporate sustainability frameworks
- Contribute to the annual development of the Impact Report by coordinating with airport teams and internal stakeholders
- Establish and maintain a collaborative Environmental Working Group to share best practices and drive innovation
- Create and update operational documentation, including procedures, manuals, and performance tracking tools
- Oversee project execution at network sites, including integration of new airports and implementation of advisory services
- Ensure compliance with international, national, and industry-specific regulations including ICAO, IATA, and national aviation standards
- Conduct operational audits and assess safety, security, and emergency preparedness across the network
- Support emergency planning initiatives, including participation in drills and contingency exercises
- Monitor evolving regulatory landscapes and prepare executive briefings on critical changes
- Provide expert advice on airside operations, Safety Management Systems (SMS), and Security Management Systems (SeMS)
- Advise on maintenance, environmental, and customer service programs to enhance operational efficiency
- Collaborate with civil aviation authorities and external agencies to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations
- Coach and mentor operational teams, fostering professional development and consistent service delivery
- Support business planning, budget reviews, and ORAT activities as required
- Develop best practice guidelines and ensure consistent implementation across all network locations
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates must bring at least five years of experience in aviation or airport-related environmental and operational management. Strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and proven success in cross-functional environments are essential. The ideal candidate is a self-directed problem solver who thrives in complex, dynamic settings and can influence outcomes without direct authority.
A degree in environmental science, aviation, or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with Canadian Aviation Regulations, ICAO standards, GRI reporting, ACI sustainability initiatives, FAA guidelines, and security protocols (CATSA/TSA) is highly valued. Experience with environmental management systems, regulatory compliance frameworks, and developing policies, RFPs, and business plans is a significant asset.
