About the Role

At MSA Safety, a purpose-driven company committed to deploying innovation and technology to protect people and assets worldwide, we are seeking a Senior Data Analyst for our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. This pivotal role transforms financial and operational data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making, partnering closely with Finance, Commercial, Operations, and Leadership teams to enhance forecasting and performance.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, automate, and maintain financial dashboards, reports, and scorecards that support monthly close, forecasts, budgets, and long-range planning.
  • Analyze P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow drivers to identify trends, variances, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support scenario modeling and sensitivity analyses to guide strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Manage and execute data loads into Oracle ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with financial reporting requirements.
  • Develop, validate, and maintain upload templates for planning data, allocations, cost center structures, and forecast uploads.
  • Perform regular checks and reconciliations to ensure loaded data matches source systems and financial models.
  • Collaborate with IT to troubleshoot load failures, resolve data inconsistencies, and optimize upload processes.
  • Build and optimize robust data models that integrate financial, commercial, operational, and external datasets.
  • Partner with Data Engineering/IT to enhance data pipelines, improve data quality, and ensure consistency across systems.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to translate business needs into analytical solutions.
  • Provide actionable insights that influence business performance, resource allocation, pricing decisions, and strategic priorities.
  • Lead analytics workstreams for companywide initiatives or FP&A transformational projects.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Science, Economics, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analytics, or data analytics roles.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, SQL, and BI visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong financial acumen with ability to interpret financial statements and KPIs.
  • Proven experience building automated reporting solutions and scalable data models.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and storytelling skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience within an international or matrixed corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and planning tools (e.g., Anaplan, Adaptive Insights).
