Shape credit risk strategy through data and analytics
As a Senior Credit Card Risk Analyst, you will drive the development and evaluation of underwriting frameworks, credit line strategies, and lifecycle decisioning models. Your work will directly influence how credit risk is assessed and managed across customer acquisition, onboarding, and portfolio growth stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, monitor, and refine underwriting rules, eligibility criteria, and credit limit strategies to optimize risk-adjusted performance.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of portfolio behavior to identify trends, detect risk exposure, and recommend data-backed improvements.
- Run and evaluate champion/challenger tests to validate new credit strategies and decision logic across the customer journey.
- Query and process large-scale datasets using SQL and Python, leveraging cloud platforms like Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools in Tableau or similar platforms to track key risk indicators and customer behavior.
- Automate data pipelines and reporting workflows using tools such as DBT, Airflow, or AWS Glue.
- Perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and segmentation to strengthen predictive models.
- Explore and integrate alternative data sources—including open banking feeds—into risk decisioning processes.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to implement policy changes and monitor model performance over time.
- Document strategies, workflows, and analytical findings for transparency and audit readiness.
- Support coordination with credit bureaus and contribute to prescreen and targeting initiatives.
- Translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders.
Qualifications
Candidates should hold a degree in Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field, with at least four years of focused experience in credit card risk analytics. Proficiency in SQL and Python is required, along with hands-on experience in cloud data environments and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
Experience with credit bureau data, prescreen campaigns, and experimentation design is essential. Familiarity with data automation frameworks and strong attention to data quality are critical. The ideal candidate is analytically rigorous, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-moving, collaborative setting.
An advanced degree, fintech background, or experience in subprime lending or alternative credit data is advantageous.

Compensation includes a competitive base salary ranging from $101,000 to $140,000 annually, stock options, and performance-based bonuses.
