Senior Customer Service Engineer
As a Senior Customer Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the on-site installation, validation, maintenance, and repair of advanced in vivo imaging systems used in medical and biological research. Your primary focus will be serving customers across Texas and surrounding regions, ensuring instruments operate at peak performance through scheduled and emergency service calls.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field service including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on complex scientific instrumentation
- Conduct customer training sessions to support proper operation and routine care of equipment
- Respond to technical inquiries and deliver solutions within defined service timelines
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify opportunities for service contracts, upgrades, and expanded product use
- Collect and transmit service data accurately to maintain system integrity
- Maintain company assets such as vehicles, tools, test equipment, and spare parts inventory
- Report product performance insights and recommend improvements through formal quality channels
- Engage in ongoing training and certification programs to strengthen technical expertise
- Complete administrative requirements including time tracking, documentation, and compliance reporting
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree with at least 7 years of hands-on field service experience in life sciences instrumentation, or Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years in a related technical support role
- Proven experience supporting medical or research-based devices in customer environments
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel frequently
Work Environment
This is an on-site role requiring up to 75% travel, with half of that within Texas and the remainder across NM, AR, MS, LA, and OK. Overnight trips are expected. You must be able to manage a flexible schedule aligned with customer needs.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary range: $85,000 – $95,000. Additional incentives such as bonuses and equity may be offered based on role level.
