As a Functional Consultant specializing in Financial Software for the DACH region, you will lead key aspects of Workday Financial Management implementations from initiation to deployment. Your role involves understanding client business processes, shaping configuration solutions, and ensuring successful adoption through structured project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete Workday Core Finance certification within the first month and pursue specialist credentials within six months
- Apply foundational knowledge through hands-on project involvement under the mentorship of senior consultants or functional architects
- Collaborate with data and integration specialists to align cross-functional components of the implementation
- Develop proficiency in Workday’s project methodology across all phases—analysis, design, testing, and go-live
- Collect and interpret business requirements, then configure solutions using standard Workday functionality
- Conduct thorough unit testing and support clients through multiple testing cycles, resolving issues as needed
- Lead deployment tasks, including system handover, knowledge transfer, and post-production support
- Participate in at least one full implementation cycle within your domain in the first year, with opportunities for additional projects
- Expand your capabilities through ongoing training and diverse project exposure in year two
Qualifications
Applicants must have at least three years of consulting experience, ideally within a software or internal consulting environment, along with professional experience in corporate finance or accounting. Fluency in both English and German is required.
Preferred candidates will have prior experience implementing enterprise financial systems such as Workday, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms. Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and customer-focused problem-solving are essential. You should be comfortable presenting to stakeholders, adapting quickly to new technologies, and working remotely using digital collaboration tools.
Familiarity with AI-powered tools is expected, and you must be willing to travel up to 30% of the time under normal business conditions.
