Lead public health communications initiatives by developing strategic messaging, managing cross-functional teams, and translating complex scientific information into accessible content for diverse audiences and government clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic communications plans that support client objectives and organizational mission.
- Supervise the production and distribution of high-quality content across digital platforms, print media, and publications.
- Direct messaging frameworks and editorial strategy for initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional teams and coordinate workflows to ensure on-time delivery of communications deliverables.
- Conduct research to understand target audiences and apply findings to improve engagement and accessibility.
- Evaluate performance data from various channels—including social media, websites, and email campaigns—and use insights to adjust strategies.
- Provide expert guidance to clients and internal teams on communications best practices, branding, and outreach tactics.
- Take a lead role in preparing proposals, including strategy design, budget planning, and staffing recommendations.
- Ensure all communications materials meet accessibility standards and adhere to organizational style and brand requirements.
- Support the growth of junior communications staff through mentorship and involvement in professional development activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field, plus at least 8 years of experience in strategic communications.
- Demonstrated experience leading client-facing communications efforts and managing multi-channel campaigns.
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree preferred, though not mandatory.
- Experience working in a consulting or shared services environment is advantageous but not required.
